EXPERIENCE

With more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a broad perspective to the table. My journey has taken me across international borders, having worked in places like the UK, Channel Islands, and Hong Kong. This global exposure has enriched my understanding of diverse financial landscapes, allowing me to provide unique insights and tailored solutions to my clients.

My academic foundation is rooted in a B.COMM from Stellenbosch, and I've further sharpened my expertise with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from UFS. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, I am committed to the highest standards of professionalism and ethics. My Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management further attests to my ability to construct investment portfolios for my clients with precision and foresight.

Whether it's crafting personalized wealth management strategies or navigating complex regulatory environments, my extensive experience and qualifications equip me to guide clients towards achieving their financial goals. As a Director and Partner of Henceforward, a leading Wealth Management and Financial Planning business, I continue to empower individuals and institutions with financial solutions that align with their values and ambitions.

I enjoy the outdoors, particularly trail running with my Dennis (my Springer Spaniel); love adventure and travel; and have undertaken a few gruelling endurance events like Iron Man and Comrades to test my limits. Life is short. So let's make the most of it.

ABOUT FIRM

Henceforward is an independent wealth management and financial planning firm in Cape Town that was born out of the idea of wanting to do things differently – offering individuals and families a sophisticated and highly personalised service. We do however have clients all over the country so aren't limited by location.

The Henceforward model is designed to deliver what our clients need – a clear view of their wealth; a dynamic planning process that adapts to changes in life’s circumstances – and a fee structure that is fair, transparent and based on the value added – not on how much money our clients have, or assets they own.

We help our clients prioritise and focus on what really matters. We understand that more money or wealth is rarely the goal – rather that money is simply a tool to give us the freedom to choose and live life on our terms.

In order to provide genuine unbiased and impartial advice we operate on a fee-only basis. No commissions, no percentage of assets invested. Our value lies in the advice we provide. Products are incidental. We calculate our fee as a function of time and complexity - which we believe is the only fair way to go about it.

The retirement industry likes to point the finger at us – we don’t save enough; we don’t preserve our pensions when moving jobs – but rarely look at themselves and the role they play.

The 10 biggest retirement planning mistakes to avoid aims to look at the current challenges of retirement planning as we explore solutions to help navigate them.
